Introduction
Tianjin Research Institute of Building Science (TRIBS) set up in 1956. It is a comprehensive institute of building science and technique in Tianjin city. Blonging to Tianjin Construction Engineering Group Ltd., Pass through for decades, the institute obtained result in each aspect of product, education and research. TRIBS had already become one with talented persons and modern technology, together science、industry and trade in the whole.
The research fields involve construction engineering, building foundation, building materials and products, water-proof materials and technique, building structures and restrengthening, concrete admixtures and technology of engineering inspection and test, etc. .
Since 1978, the TRIBS has 130 research projects which have passed appraisal. And in which there are 70 projects won the awards from the All-National Science Congress、Ministries of Center Government and municipal authorities. Many research achievements are in the lead in all of China or advanced in whole world. These research results had been used in Tianjin key projects and projects in different domestic regions. Admixtures produced by us were sold to Middle East Countries. By the above achievements, our institute was gained a high reputation.
Since 1992, we had established Xiandai Construction Development of Science and Technology Company, Construction Supervision Limited Company, Jiangong Building Special Type Concrete Materials Technology Development Limited Company. For adapting to the strategy of developing Binhai New Area, was established Binhai New Area Branch of our institute. In addition, Tianjin Construction Engineering Group Technology Information Station, Tianjin Inspection & Test Center of Construction Engineering Quality and Tianjin No.24 Station of Technology Supervision & Inspection are in TRIBS.
TRIBS is at the front in field of science and technology of building, and gains new breakthroughs on aspect of technology innovation 、science research 、development and so on. TRIBS was confered the title of ‘Advanced collective in science and technology work’ by the Construction Ministry and appraised the title of ‘Advanced institute serving to economy construction’ by city government. And in 2006, was awarded of the title of “2000--2005 science and technology advanced collective” by the Construction Ministry and the title of “2000--2005 Tianjin advanced collective construction advance of science and technology advanced collective” by Tianjin Municipality Construction Committee.
